Quick Tips C1S indicates coated on front side and uncoated on back side. C2S indicates coated on both sides. Glossy stocks provide brighter colors, whereas matte and uncoated stocks provide softer colors. We do not recommend using heavy, dark ink on uncoated stocks due to offsetting. You cannot write or print on UV (Ultra Violet) coated stocks, and we do not guarantee that you will be able to write on aqueous coated stocks. UV coating gives a higher level of glossiness than aqueous gloss coating. Aqueous satin is a popular compromise between gloss and matte, offers a pleasing sheen and good sheet protection. UV coating is more durable, scratch-resistant and provides better protection against moisture, dirt, and chemicals.
Spot UV set up: When creating a Spot UV job, you must include a Spot UV template file along with the regular print file. The Spot UV template file is used to show where the UV coating needs to be applied. For better quality we recommend creating mask files in vector based programs such as Illustrator or CorelDraw.
Please only use solid 100% K to indicate where you would like the UV. Do not use shadows, glows or gray scale images. White will indicate no UV. Remember, if it's white, you can write!
