Foil Mask Setup

Submit the complete CMYK print file plus a separate foil mask file at the identical size, orientation and position.

  1. Use solid 100% black only where foil should appear and white everywhere else.
  2. Do not use gradients, transparency, screens or multiple colors in the mask.
  3. Keep fine foil lines and small gaps thick enough to reproduce cleanly.
  4. Create separate front and back masks when foil is selected on both sides.

Choose a conventional rectangular trim or add a custom cut-to-shape path.

A custom vector cut path creates a distinctive nonrectangular card. Practical shapes should avoid fragile points and narrow projections.

Contour Cutline Setup

  1. Create one closed vector path with smooth curves and as few anchor points as practical.
  2. Place the cutline on a separate layer using the required spot-color name.
  3. Extend background artwork beyond the cutline and keep important content safely inside it.
  4. Submit print artwork and cutline at identical size, orientation and position.

Choose square corners, four-corner rounding or two-corner rounding. Two-corner options are shown because they are applicable, but the template library intentionally excludes them.

Which papers are writable?

Uncoated, natural and many textured stocks are the best choices for handwriting. C1S cardstock provides a coated front with an uncoated, writable back.

Can I order a custom-shaped business card?

Yes. Select contour cutting and provide a separate closed vector cutline. Avoid narrow projections, sharp fragile points and overly complex paths.

How should foil artwork be prepared?

Submit the complete CMYK artwork and a separate solid-black foil mask at identical size and position. Separate masks are required for front and back foil.

Are two rounded corners available?

Yes, two-corner rounding is an applicable production option. Downloadable templates are intentionally limited to square corners and four-corner rounded versions.

Can folded business cards have rounded corners?

Rounded-corner templates are not provided for folded cards. Folded cards use the listed flat-size template and fold line only.
