What makes Pearl Bookmarks different?The 14pt pearl metallic cardstock has a subtle reflective shimmer that gives the finished bookmark a more elegant appearance than a standard white coated stock.
Will the pearl shimmer show through my artwork?Yes. The pearlescent surface is most visible in lighter and unprinted areas. Heavy ink coverage can reduce how much of the metallic shimmer is visible.
What types of designs work well on pearl stock?Refined typography, wedding and event artwork, elegant logos, borders, patterns and layouts with intentional open space work especially well because they allow the pearl surface to remain part of the design.
Will printed colors look the same as they do on bright white paper?Not exactly. The pearlescent surface can subtly influence the finished color appearance, particularly in lighter tones and areas with less ink coverage.
Can Pearl Bookmarks be written on?Yes. The pearl stock can be written on with a permanent marker such as a Sharpie when names, notes or short messages need to be added after printing.
Are Pearl Bookmarks waterproof?No. The pearl stock is a specialty paper product and should be protected from prolonged exposure to water or moisture.
How should I prepare the artwork?Prepare artwork at final size in CMYK color. Use 300 dpi raster images, include bleed when artwork reaches the trim, and keep important text and logos safely inside the cut line.
