What gives Brown Kraft Bookmarks their natural look?The stock has a warm brown tone with visible fibers and subtle flecks, so the paper itself becomes part of the finished design.
How will CMYK colors look on brown kraft?Colors printed directly on kraft will appear darker and more muted because the brown paper shows through the ink. This is often desirable for an earthy, natural appearance.
What does the white mask do?The white mask controls where white ink is printed. White ink can sit beneath CMYK to make colors brighter and more opaque, or it can print by itself as visible white.
Do I need a separate white-mask file?Yes. Provide the normal CMYK artwork plus a separate white-mask file at the same size and alignment as the print artwork.
How should I build the white mask?Use vector artwork with solid 100% black where white ink should print and white where no white ink is needed. Keep the mask aligned exactly with the CMYK artwork.
Can I print some areas directly on kraft and use white ink in others?Yes. That is one of the main advantages of this product. You can let some colors interact with the kraft stock while using white ink selectively for contrast.
How should I prepare the regular print artwork?Prepare artwork at final size in CMYK color. Use 300 dpi raster images, include bleed when artwork reaches the trim, and keep important text safely inside the cut line.
