What is the difference between matte, gloss and photo poster paper?Matte poster paper reduces reflections and works well for text-heavy displays or bright lighting. Gloss poster paper has a shinier surface that can give colors more visual punch. Photo poster paper is a strong choice for image-driven graphics and photographic reproduction.
When should I choose polypropylene instead of paper?Polypropylene is a synthetic, tear-resistant poster material that is useful when the piece will be handled more often or when added durability and moisture resistance are helpful. It remains flexible rather than rigid.
What is backlit film used for?Backlit film is designed for compatible illuminated display systems such as light boxes, menu boards and display cases. The graphic should be planned for transmitted light rather than evaluated only as an unlit print.
When should I laminate a poster?Use compatible lamination when the poster benefits from additional surface protection, a specific sheen or dry-erase functionality. Gloss adds shine and color saturation, matte reduces glare, and dry-erase laminate creates a reusable write-on surface.
Can lamination be applied to both sides?Both-side gloss, matte and dry-erase lamination choices are available for qualifying poster configurations. The selected material and intended use should determine whether one-side or both-side finishing is appropriate.
What grommet placements are available?Available placements include four corners, every 2–3 feet on all sides, top and bottom, left and right, top only, bottom only, or the top corners only. Keep important artwork away from the grommet area.
What file format should I provide?A print-ready PDF is preferred whenever practical. Keep logos and text vector when possible, embed or outline fonts, and use adequate image resolution at the final printed size.
Do posters need bleed?When artwork prints to the finished edge, extend backgrounds and images into the bleed area shown in the applicable template. Keep important content inside the safety margin so normal trimming variation does not affect it.
