What is Foil Worx?Foil Worx is a flat metallic foil treatment applied to selected areas of a printed, silk-laminated bookmark. It creates crisp reflective accents without adding the raised texture of raised foil.
What foil colors are available?Foil Worx is available in black, blue, copper, gold, red, rose gold and silver. One foil color is used per order.
Where does foil work best in a bookmark design?Foil works especially well on logos, names, borders, icons, patterns and other selected design elements where metallic contrast will be easy to see.
What files should I provide?Provide the normal CMYK print artwork plus a separate foil mask file at the same size and alignment. If Spot UV is also selected, it requires its own separate mask.
How should I build the foil mask?Use solid 100% black where foil should print and white everywhere else. Avoid gradients, shadows or grayscale in the foil mask.
Can foil and Spot UV overlap?No. Keep foil and Spot UV areas at least 1/16 inch apart so the two specialty treatments remain clearly separated.
How much foil coverage is recommended?For best results, keep foil coverage below about 50% of the printed side and avoid very fine foil text or extremely thin lines.
