Akuafoil Mask Setup

  1. Submit the complete CMYK print file and a separate Akuafoil mask at identical size and position.
  2. Use solid 100% black only where the metallic effect should appear; use white everywhere else.
  3. Create separate front and back masks when Akuafoil is applied to both sides.
  4. Avoid hairlines and extremely fine details that may not reproduce consistently.

Spot UV Mask Setup

For Spot UV stocks, submit a separate mask file at identical size and position. Use solid 100% black where gloss should be applied and white elsewhere. Provide separate front and back masks when required.

What is Akuafoil®?

Akuafoil® combines full-color printing with metallic effects that can reproduce many colors rather than only traditional gold or silver.

Where can Akuafoil be applied?

The spreadsheet supports front only, back only and both sides. Back-only Akuafoil requires full-color printing on both sides.

How should the Akuafoil mask be prepared?

Submit a separate mask at the same size and position as the print file. Use solid 100% black where the effect should appear and white elsewhere.

What paper is used?

All options use 16 pt C2S cardstock, with standard coating, UV high gloss or selective Spot UV on one or both sides.

Can Akuafoil and Spot UV be combined?

Yes, on the spreadsheet-supported Spot UV stocks. Separate masks are required for each special effect and each applicable side.

Are two rounded corners available?

Yes as a production option, but downloadable templates intentionally include only square corners and four-corner rounded versions.

Can folded Akuafoil cards have rounded corners?

Rounded-corner templates are not included for folded cards. Use the flat-size folded template with the indicated fold line.

How long does production take?

Standard production is 8–10 business days. Eligible orders may use the 5–7 business-day expedited option. Shipping or delivery transit is additional.
