Choose the finished orientation, printing, banner material and finishing that best match the display environment and installation method. Material weight and construction affect handling, opacity, durability and airflow, while hemming, grommets, pole pockets, rope and wind slits determine how the finished banner can be mounted.
Use the comparisons below to evaluate standard vinyl, heavier vinyl, double-sided, mesh and blockout banner materials, then select the finishing needed for the intended installation. Keep important artwork away from finished edges, hems, grommets and other hardware locations.

Size & Orientation
Enter the finished width and length in inches, then choose the direction that matches the artwork. The estimator supports custom dimensions; the Templates section also provides quick-start guides for popular banner sizes.
HorizontalWidth is greater than height
Landscape layouts are common for banners, storefront graphics, wall signage, fence graphics and wide display panels.
VerticalHeight is greater than width
Portrait layouts suit standing signs, window graphics, narrow wall graphics, directional panels and other tall displays.
Printing
Choose how the finished piece is printed. Two-sided printing is only meaningful on materials that are printable and visible from both sides.
Full ColorThe standard choice for most adhesive graphics, posters, mounted signs, banners and display pieces viewed primarily from one direction.
Material
Choose material based on where the finished graphic will be used, how it will be mounted and how long it needs to perform. Options range from economical poster and display media to rigid boards, adhesive films, banner materials, specialty wall and floor graphics, translucent products and durable outdoor substrates. Thicknesses, finishes and specialty constructions are noted where they help distinguish the best application.

Highlights: Outdoor capable; durable; cost-effective; 13oz lighter/economical; 15oz midweight; 18oz heavier-duty; gloss/matte
Best for: Street-side promotions; events; building banners; fences
Consider: Wind load and installation method matter
Finishing: Hemming, grommets, pole pockets or rope as applicable.

Double-Sided Vinyl Banner15oz Standard Matte Vinyl Double Sided Banner; 18oz Standard Gloss Vinyl Double Sided Banner; 18oz Standard Matte Vinyl Double Sided Banner; 13oz Blockout Matte Double Sided Banner
Prevents show-through so graphics can be viewed from both directions.
Highlights: Two-sided viewing; blockout; durable; heavier-duty
Best for: Street poles; hanging banners; open areas viewed both ways
Consider: Mounting hardware must support weight/wind
Finishing: Pole pockets commonly used.

Mesh Banner9oz Mesh Polyester Scrim Banner
Allows air to pass through, reducing wind load.
Highlights: Airflow; lighter wind load; outdoor; mesh construction
Best for: Fences; construction sites; windy locations; large outdoor banners
Consider: Less solid appearance up close
Finishing: Hemming/grommets commonly used.

Blockout Banner13oz Blockout Matte Single Sided Banner
Reduces show-through where opacity is important.
Highlights: Opaque; minimizes show-through; matte; single/double-sided
Best for: Hanging displays; bright environments; two-sided applications
Consider: Heavier/more opaque than standard banner
Banner Finishing
Banner finishing prepares the printed material for the intended installation. Choose a reinforced hem when edge strength is important, grommets for tie-down or hanging points, pole pockets or rope in hem for supported mounting, and wind slits only when the installation calls for them.

HemmingReinforces banner edges by folding and securing the perimeter for added strength and a finished edge.
Highlights: Reinforces banner edges; adds strength; creates a finished perimeter
Best for: Hanging banners; outdoor banners; banners using grommets or rope
Consider: Hemming adds material at the edge and should be planned with nearby artwork and finishing

GrommetsFour Corners; Every 2–3 ft. — All Sides; Top & Bottom; Left & Right; Top Only; Bottom Only; Top Corners Only
Reinforced metal eyelets provide mounting points for rope, hooks, zip ties and other compatible hanging methods.
Highlights: Reinforced edges; attachment points
Best for: Fence banners; wall banners; events; general hanging
Consider: Grommets do not eliminate wind load

Pole Pockets / Rope in HemPole Pocket — Top & Bottom; Top Only; Bottom Only; Left & Right; Left Only; Right Only; Rope in Hem — Top & Bottom; Top Only; Bottom Only; Left & Right; Left Only; Right Only
Pole pockets create sleeves; rope in hem provides continuous reinforced tie-off.
Highlights: Integrated mounting; cleaner tension; pole/rope support
Best for: Street-pole banners; hanging banners; rails
Consider: Pocket size must match pole; plan before production

Wind SlitsOpenings cut into solid banner to allow some air passage.
Highlights: Allows some airflow through solid banner
Best for: Selected exposed outdoor banner installations
Consider: Interrupts artwork; not windproof; mesh often better in high wind
Finishing: Consider mesh first for consistently windy locations.
Turnaround
Production speed depends on material, size, finishing, artwork readiness and current capacity. Rush options are shown only when the selected configuration qualifies.
3–4 Business DaysStandard production
Best for most estimator projects and configurations where normal production scheduling is acceptable.
2 Business DaysFaster production
A faster production option for qualifying projects when you need your graphics sooner than the standard turnaround. Availability depends on the selected size, material, printing and finishing options.
Next Business DayRush production
For urgent production-ready projects when the selected material, size and finishing qualify for next-business-day completion.
Same Business DayFastest rush option · cutoff applies
Available only for eligible configurations submitted production-ready before the applicable cutoff. Shipping or delivery time is separate.
Artwork
Choose the workflow that matches how ready the print file is. Large-format artwork should be built at a practical scale with adequate resolution for the final viewing distance.
Upload Print File NowArtwork is ready with the order
Upload the production file during ordering so preflight can begin without waiting for a separate file submission. PDF is preferred when practical.
Upload Print File LaterProvide artwork separately
Use this when pricing or order setup needs to be completed before the final production file is ready. Production timing begins after usable artwork is received and approved.
